The fifth systematic camera-trapping session in Mavrovo National Park

The fifth systematic camera-trapping session in Mavrovo National Park began on February 15 this year.

The Park Ranger together with the members of the Macedonian Ecological Society successfully set up 60 photo traps in 30 different locations in the park for 4 days. “Traps” will be active for 2 months, and their control will be performed according to a predetermined dynamics.

After the first check of the photo traps near the village of Zirovnica we managed to photograph two different individuals from the Balkan lynx.
Since the lynx mating season is in this period, and taking into account that the same individuals were photographed in the previous session in 2015, we think that it is an adult male and female.
