Information on the Start of the Sport Fishing Season in the Waters of NP Mavrovo 2026
We would like to inform you that the sport fishing season on Lake Mavrovo and the Radika River within the Mavrovo National Park begins on February 1, 2026 (Sunday) and will last until October 31, 2026.
Allowed Days for Sport Fishing
Lake Mavrovo

From February 1, 2026, to May 31, 2026, fishing is permitted on: Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

From June 1, 2026, to October 31, 2026, fishing will be permitted every day.

Note: For the period from October 1, 2026, to October 31, 2026, sport fishing on Lake Mavrovo is allowed every day for all fish species except trout, which is in its natural spawning period.
Radika River and its Tributaries

From February 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026, allowed fishing days are: Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

During the months of July and August, fishing will be permitted every day.

Requirement for obtaining an annual fishing license for pupils, students, and retirees is the submission of an appropriate document (pension check, pupil or student certificate).
The Public Institution Mavrovo National Park also offers subsidized prices for all types of licenses for residents of NP Mavrovo this year.

How to Purchase Licenses
Licenses can be purchased at the Tourist Information Center in Mavrovi Anovi.
A daily fishing license can also be bought through the electronic system at www.npmavrovo.mk under the “TICKETS” (БИЛЕТИ) section, or directly at the following link: https://npmavrovo.mk/buy/130
To purchase a daily fishing license through the electronic system, you must have a valid email address where you will receive a payment confirmation. Payment can be made with all types of payment cards.
Important Notes
The obligation to possess a sport fishing identification card (license book) with a paid membership fee for the current year is mandatory for all types of fishing licenses.
The data entered when purchasing a license through the electronic system (for example, the sport fishing ID number) must be accurate and truthful. By checking the option “Confirmation of data accuracy”, the user confirms that they possess a valid sport fishing ID with a paid membership fee – stamp for the year 2026.
During inspections by the ranger service or any other authorized state authority, any individual possessing a fishing license issued through the electronic system is obliged to present a valid sport fishing ID in addition to the confirmation email as proof of payment. Providing false information is punishable in accordance with the law.
Licenses purchased electronically will also be recorded in paper form under the same serial number. If needed, the paper license can be picked up at the Tourist Information Center in Mavrovi Anovi.
The Public Institution “Mavrovo” National Park kindly requests all sport anglers to respect the legal regulations, the fishing bans on specific fish species during certain periods of the year, as well as the permitted catch limits and minimum sizes.
