“MAVROVO” NATIONAL PARK STEPPING UP CONTROLS AGAINST ILLEGAL FISHING

During a routine patrol on Lake Mavrovo, authorized officers from the “Mavrovo” National Park discovered and removed illegally set fishing nets.

The Police Station in Mavrovi Anovi has been notified about the incident. Measures are being taken in coordination with competent institutions to establish the circumstances and determine responsibility.

Lake patrols will continue with the aim of protecting fish stocks and preventing the illegal exploitation of natural resources.

“Mavrovo” National Park calls on citizens, anglers, visitors, and nature lovers to report illegal fishing, net deployment, or any other activities that threaten the environment. Reports can be submitted to the relevant services.

Timely reporting can prevent greater damage and contribute to the preservation of Lake Mavrovo. All identified violations will be documented and reported, and perpetrators will be held accountable in accordance with the law.

Protecting the lake is a shared responsibility of both institutions and citizens.
