Over 2,000 Kilograms of Carp Stocked in Lake Mavrovo Ahead of the World Carp Fishing Championship
Preparations for the World Carp Fishing Championship are entering their final stage, with Lake Mavrovo once again restocked with more than 2,000 kilograms of carp.
As part of the intensive preparations for the organization of the World Carp Fishing Championship, which will be held this year at Lake Mavrovo, the Public Institution National Park Mavrovo, in partnership with the Macedonian Fishing Federation, carried out a new fish stocking of the lake with 2,092 kilograms of carp.
This activity is part of strategically planned measures aimed at improving the fish stock and ensuring appropriate conditions for the successful organization of this major international sport-fishing event. At the same time, the stocking has long-term ecological value, contributing to the preservation of biodiversity, the stability of the lake ecosystem, and the sustainable management of natural resources.
The organization of the World Championship represents an exceptional opportunity for the international promotion of National Park Mavrovo and the Republic of Macedonia as a recognized destination for sport fishing, active tourism, and natural values of international significance.
We would like to remind visitors that the temporary ban on carp fishing remains in force until the conclusion of the World Championship. Respecting this measure is essential for protecting the stocked fish population, preserving the lake’s fishing potential, and ensuring fair and high-quality conditions for the competition.
In order to ensure the consistent implementation of protection measures, the Nature Protection Service of the Public Institution National Park Mavrovo is conducting intensified field inspections and continuous 24-hour monitoring of Lake Mavrovo. Any actions contrary to the applicable legislation and current restrictions will be subject to appropriate legal sanctions.
The Public Institution National Park Mavrovo expresses its sincere gratitude to the Macedonian Fishing Federation for the successful cooperation, professional approach, and joint commitment to preparing this prestigious international event, as well as to implementing activities aimed at the protection, improvement, and sustainable management of the fish stock.
Through these coordinated activities, Lake Mavrovo further strengthens its position as one of the most important sport-fishing destinations in the region and is ready to welcome some of the world’s best sport anglers.
