Today, the Public Institution Mavrovo National Park, in cooperation with the Macedonian Fishing Federation, successfully restocked Lake Mavrovo with 2,000 kilograms of carp.

This marks the first phase of the planned restocking activities. In the upcoming period, several more initiatives of this kind will be carried out to enrich and improve the fish stock in the waters within the territory of Mavrovo National Park.

The restocking is being implemented ahead of the World Carp Fishing Championship, which will be held on Lake Mavrovo this year. Mavrovo National Park is actively working on the affirmation and promotion of sport fishing, the development of fishing tourism, and the creation of ideal conditions for hosting major international sporting events.

At the same time, PI National Park Mavrovo informs all sport anglers that a ban on carp fishing comes into effect today. This ban will remain in place for the foreseeable future, specifically until the conclusion of the World Championship.

We appeal to all sport fishing enthusiasts to respect the fishing rules and regulations, and through their responsible behavior, contribute to the preservation and enrichment of the fish stock in the waters of Mavrovo National Park.

Hosting a world championship of this scale is an event of exceptional importance for the Republic of Macedonia and Mavrovo National Park. Its successful execution depends on the shared responsibility, support, and cooperation of all nature and sport fishing lovers.
