CLEAN NATURE IS OUR SHARED RESPONSIBILITY

Today, the Public Institution Mavrovo National Park actively joined the major national ecological action “GENERALKA VIKEND” (General Weekend), proving once again that caring for nature is not just an obligation, but a value that must be lived, nurtured, and built upon every single day.

Although such activities are part of the daily work duties of the employees at PI National Park Mavrovo, today’s action held a special significance. This is our strong and united support for a noble initiative that sends a clear message about the importance of a clean and healthy environment.

All park employees actively participated in the action, utilizing the park’s own machinery and vehicles. Additionally, equipment, gloves, and waste bags were provided to ensure the action was carried out efficiently and successfully.

Cleanup operations took place at multiple locations across Mavrovo National Park—the surroundings of Lake Mavrovo, the road leading to the village of Galičnik, from the viewpoint near Carevec to the village of Mavrovo, the Crn Kamen picnic site, the area around the Tourist Information Center in Mavrovi Anovi, the location around the Mavrovo campsite, sections of the Mavrovi Anovi – Debar road, as well as the area around the Elenski Skok (Deer Leap) bridge. The initiative was warmly greeted by the tourists we encountered on-site. Some of them even joined us, brightening up this beautiful ecological day with their presence.

We hope that today’s action sends a powerful message to every citizen of the Republic of Macedonia, and especially to the local population and visitors of NP Mavrovo. Each of us decides on our own environment, the appearance of the place we live in, and the heritage we will leave behind for future generations. Every individual can contribute to a cleaner environment and a healthier future.

PI National Park Mavrovo hopes to see as many citizens as possible get involved in similar initiatives. Only together and in an organized manner can we raise awareness about the importance of a clean environment—both for our health and for the preservation of our natural treasures and the progress of our country.
