Today, May 28, 2026, the Public Institution Mavrovo National Park, in cooperation with the Macedonian Fishing Federation, successfully implemented the second phase of restocking Lake Mavrovo with 2,090 kg of carp.

This activity continues the ongoing efforts to enrich and protect the fish stock in the waters of Mavrovo National Park, aiming to create better conditions for the development of sport fishing and to preserve the natural balance of the lake.

The restocking is being carried out ahead of the World Carp Fishing Championship, which will be hosted right here on Lake Mavrovo this year. Organizing such a significant international event represents a great opportunity for the promotion of Mavrovo National Park and fishing tourism in Macedonia.

At the same time, PI National Park Mavrovo reminds all sport anglers that the ban on carp fishing remains in effect and will last until the conclusion of the World Championship.

We appeal to all visitors and sport fishing enthusiasts to respect the regulations and, through responsible behavior, contribute to the preservation of natural values and the improvement of the fish stock in Lake Mavrovo.

Shared care, cooperation, and support are key to the successful organization of such major events and to the further affirmation of Mavrovo National Park as a recognizable destination for sport fishing and tourism.
