Establishment of a Video Surveillance System in Mavrovo National Park

Dear Citizens,
We would like to inform you that Mavrovo National Park, in accordance with its legal competences and obligations, continuously cares for the protection, promotion, and sustainable management of the natural values, biodiversity, and ecosystems within its territory.
With the aim of ensuring a higher level of nature protection, as well as increased safety for wildlife and visitors, the Department for Protection and Monitoring of Mavrovo National Park has established a video surveillance system across 60 locations throughout the park’s territory.
The installation of these cameras aims to achieve:

Monitoring of wildlife species

Tracking population numbers
-
Prevention and early detection of illegal activities, such as illegal logging, poaching, pollution, destruction of natural resources, and other actions that can cause environmental damage.
At the same time, the video surveillance contributes to better monitoring of natural conditions and wildlife movement, enabling timely responses by the competent services, which enhances the overall protection and management of the park.
